Spring Break: Peru!! (Day 1) - LIMA

Although I am now recounting the Peru trip two months later, I didn't want to just forget about it and not document one of the most amazing trips of my life. A true adventure type adventure -- for wussies, true -- but probably as far as I would ever step into the realm of "roughing it." The trip consisted of roughly 8 days, with four days and three nights spent on the Inca Trail.

Official Itinerary

SAT 04 …/ LIMA (Altitude: 154 m.a.s.l)
Upon your arrival to Lima, meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

14:00 Visit the major attractions of the city: the "Plaza Mayor" (main square), the Cathedral, the Government's Palace and Catacombs of "San Francisco". Afterwards you'll continue to the residential districts of San Isidro, Miraflores and the bohemia Barranco, ending with a panoramic view at the Park of Love, where stands a big sculpture representing a "Couple of Andean lovers" facing the Pacific Ocean.

20:00 Folklore show and dinner at at Junius Restaurant in Miraflores.

Lodging.

I actually skipped this day because we decided to take the Continental flight that arrived late at night on March 4th. It was a rough start to the trip, we had to wait at the airport for an hour for a phantom classmate who never showed up. By the time we arrived at the hotel, it was already past midnight and we were told that the wake up call the next day would be at 3AM!!! Usa, Kim and I were on the same flight and we ended up sharing one dingy, hot room for just 1.5 hours. We were all exhausted though and 1.5 hrs of sleep was better than nothing!!
