Manhole Explosion in JC!

Ricky was walking home when he called and said, woah, two manholes just blew up and flames are coming out of one of them! Even the buildings shook! Me, happily sitting around watching TV at home (just 2 blocks away), didn't feel or hear anything. Apparently the electricity was knocked out for the whole block, considerable inconvenience for our tenants. But it was pretty frightening that Ricky was right there and saw everything as it happened.

The next day, we got this email from the management company of our building, "...last night two manholes exploded and caught fire. We thought it was an underground transformer. Fortunately it was just one of the main wires feeding downtown JC to our east. However the fire burned up some of the wires that feed 222, 273 and 275. PSEG just shut down these buildings and will be spending the day rewiring the damaged wires."
